Nouli sits a little aside. You leave Santa Teresa heading south, take the small dirt track on the right, and the forest closes in. Past a wooden gate, in a clearing of its own — palm thatch, timber frame, glass walls, the kind of building that disappears into the green.
It was the most recent maison we took on. It was made for two — or for four if the second bed is mobilised — but truthfully, two is the right number. Few rooms, but each opens onto the trees. A pool, a hammock, a kitchen that leans outdoor.
It is what we suggest when someone wants to vraiment ne voir personne for a few days — a writer, a couple, a quiet retreat. The road into town is five minutes by ATV; the world, if you want it, is there. If you don't, the cicadas keep their schedule.

Santa Teresa centro · Costa Rica
A few minutes south of the main avenue of Santa Teresa, off a small dirt track. The forest absorbs everything. You hear the leaves, the cicadas, the faint memory of the ocean further down — nothing more.
